Privacy Policy

The law requires that we publish a privacy policy on our website. The key pieces of legislation include the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, in the UK, the Data Protection Act 2018.

GDPR is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It also addresses the transfer of personal data outside the EU and EEA areas. The GDPR’s primary aim is to give control to individuals over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.

The Data Protection Act 2018 (c. 12) is a United Kingdom Act of Parliament which updates data protection laws in the UK. It is a national law which complements the EU’s GDPR and replaces the Data Protection Act 1998.

A Privacy Policy is a legal agreement that explains what kinds of personal information we gather from website visitors, how we use this information, and how we keep it safe. A clear and open privacy policy helps build trust with our users.

Annual Modern Slavery Statement

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It is designed to combat modern slavery in the UK and consolidates previous offences relating to trafficking and slaery. The act extends to England and Wales. The bill was introduced to the House of Commons in draft form in 2013.10m by James Brokenshire, Parliamentary Under Secretary for Crime and Security. The bill’s sponsors in the Home Office were Theresa May and Lord Bates. It received Royal Assent and became law on 26 March 2015.

From 2015.10.29 the Transparency in Supply Chain Provisions require businesses to publish an annual statement if they have an annual turnover above a threshold. The statement must confirm the steps taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in the business (or in any supply chain).
